Bodyguard Christian Apologetics

Wes Hazlett Ministry Biography

Wes Hazlett has been involved in Christian ministry since his radical conversion to Christ in the fall of 1996.

Following a short professional baseball career in 1996 and the destruction of a relationship in which a beautiful son was born of the ashes, Wes was confronted with what he calls the 'inevitable emptiness and total futility of a world that lusts after its own tail'. By the grace of God and in the richness of the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ, Wesley William Hazlett surrendered his life to his Creator, Lord, and Savior- Jesus the Christ on or about the fall of 1996.

In 1998, about two years later, in symbolic fashion of what Christ did for him, Wes made a large cross, out of old Louisville Slugger baseball bat boxes, and walked down a state highway in Minnesota. It garnered attention even in the local newspaper. When asked why he did it, he responded, "I didn't do this to get to heaven, I did it because Christ has set me free and I am done living for this world."

Soon after, while working as a conductor for the BNSF railroad, he formed a ministry called Soul Lightning Christian Apologetics which has blossomed into what it is now called- Bodyguard Christian Apologetics (2000-2025). Was officially retired from the CPKC Railroad in 2022 following a traumatic injury.

Wes has served in a number of mission trips throughout the United States and served notably as a Christian mentor and volunteer at the James House of Willmar, Minnesota in 2012-2014 and facility Director and program facilitator of Next Chapter of LaCrosse in 2023 where he produced Bible studies for men being reintegrated from prison back into non-incarcerated populations.

He has conducted a number of personal investigations into American religions. His prominent works are related to Scripturally defending the Christian faith and with the 66 books of the Canon as revealed through the Bible. He has a personal library of over 200 books/reference materials related to the subject and has conducted personal investigations into the; Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society, Mormonism, Roman Catholicism, and other minor studies into such topics as the defense of the Apostleship of Paul where he wrote the book; The Apostle to the Gentiles: A Biblical Response to the Undermining of the Apostleship of Paul and the Denial of the Scriptural Authority of His Writings.

He has produced over one hundred studies into the field of Christian Apologetics which can be found at https://x.com/TheBodyguard777.  He is currently working on his next book called, The Legendary Tales of Watershire Springs & the Kingdom of Hasculf which tells of a medieval story of four Hasculf brothers who build a city upon the ruins of Giants and contend with forces of evil in the power of Christ and armed with the Geneva Bible.
